Christmas Music
Music has a unique
way of touching our hearts, and perhaps at no season during the year
is that more evident than Christmas. Shopping malls, concert halls,
grocery stores, and street corners are all abuzz with the music of Christmas.
So when the holidays
roll around, it's time to bring out those songs to help you get in the
spirit! We've assembled a few resources from the Internet for you to
enjoy.
- MIDI Files
Looking for a virtual kareoke machine to help with your Christmas
caroling? Gather the friends and family around the computer, and start
a MIDI file playing and you'll have just that. MIDI files were originally
created to allow musicians to store music information in small files
for playback and archival. While not comparable to CD quality, they're
a great way to hear a tune from your computer or MIDI-compatible music
instrument. To get started, simply visit the Christmas
MIDI web site, and click on a song title to listen to the song.
(Note: While most Web browsers and computer may play MIDI files, not
all computers may play these files properly)
- Christmas
MP3's
MP3 is a compact way to store sound digitally. The quality is near
or equal to that of a Compact Disc, but it requires an MP3 player
to listen to them. MP3.com has a Christmas
MP3 "station" on their Web site that will allow you to listen
to and buy Christmas music from their site.
- Lyrics and
Music
If you want to go a capella with your caroling, or have forgotten
the verses of the most common tunes, this
site may be just what you want.
